Yesterday Mom and her sister Alice enjoyed a day out together. They used the wheelchair that palliative care provided and, while very limited by Mom's fatigue, were able to stay out for a while. As a result, Mom is extremely tired today - she has spent most of the day in bed.
We can see that she is unable to "bounce back" from this overall fatigue, and the expectation - as told to us by the palliative care doctor - is that she will continue on this trend. As the cancer continues to progress, Mom will be less able to eat, more fatigued, and sleep more. We are thankful that thus far the pain meds have made a noticable difference in Mom's overall comfort. Our hope is that she continues to remain comfortable. May God continue to hold us in His care.

ReplyDeleteSo nice that you were able to go out with Helen for a while. Even an hour of doing something special lifts the spirits.
ReplyDeleteGlad that the pain meds are doing there work. We pray that you may continue to eb kept comfortable and still be able to visit with people for whatever length of time that you're comfortable with.
