Mom's palliative care visit went well yesterday. The nurse focused mainly on pain control - Mom seems to have been masking her pain for a while - I think she has gotten used to it, and it had become normal for her. So we were assured that this should not be normal, and Mom has been asked to take pain meds regularly now. This will give an indication of how much she should be on when they give her slow-release pain meds eventually.
She is also going to get a higher dosage of steroids to hopefully give her an appetite. Mom has eaten so little lately - she just can't get anything down, and as a result is very weak. As she spends much of her time in bed, we hope she will enjoy a bit of energy again.

staying in contact in this way is wonderfull for all of us knowing that calling mom and dad's phone is not always the way best to go ( and thats ok) Please know that you all are in our prayers and pray the Lord give you comfort in His Word during the days still alloted to mom. Please let them know we are praying and thinking of them Ben and Ineke Huttema
