Yesterday Mom had her PICC line put in - it worked well for the IV chemo Mom had this afternoon. She is just bone-tired right now and dealing with the side-effects. With this chemo, she has much more nausea, and the medicines to help this have their own side-effects. She will be having 12 treatments in total, two behind her, and ten ahead. This round of chemo is double what she had before - two treatments every three weeks. Next week she has no treatment, but will have to go back to get her PICC line flushed.
Because of the possible accumulating fluid in her lungs, Mom will be getting an x-ray on Monday. We are hoping she doesn't need another lung tap, as she may need to have a tube left in for gradual draining. As you can imagine, Mom is not excited about that, but is taking it all in stride and will do what needs to be done. She is one tough lady!!
Dad is amazing - he does so much, and continues to be an example of a true help-meet! They are strong together, and confident of being in God's hands. What a comfort this is....Mom still enjoys life, and yes - she still can laugh, despite sometimes being too tired to talk :).
Thank you for your prayers!
