Mom had her oncology appointment this morning. We were encouraged that her bone scan came back essentially clean; there were two small spots, but the Oncologist is not concerned about those. Her liver is also cancer-free, and functioning well.

Mom has started on oral chemotherapy today already - she is happy that action is being taken already, as we were afraid that the pneumonia would prevent any treatment. She is still on antibiotics for the pneumonia. Her oral chemo will last for two weeks, and then a week off, which is standard for that therapy. During that week off, she (we) will go back to her Dr. at the Cancer Clinic to evaluate and perhaps start another round of it.

Mom's lung function isn't great, especially in the left lung, which only has about 25% function, but the other lung is better. There are a few spots of cancer there too, but it is still working well for her. Her fatigue is quite overwhelming right now, but she loves visits - as long as they are short - maybe 20 minutes or so.

Mom is happy about the chemo - she wants to fight this! She and Dad are doing everything possible they can do to keep her healthy, and the rest we leave in God's hands. We are thankful for your continued prayers.
