We wanted to start a blog to keep all of Mom and Dad's family and friends updated with Mom's cancer treatments. We offer our thanks so far to everyone who has been so caring and supportive to Mom and Dad - it has been a real blessing to them, and to us also.
We pray that our Heavenly Father will uphold Mom (and Dad) through these next weeks and months, giving her all she needs. It looks like such a large mountain before us, but we know that He will guide and sustain us in all these things.
Mom got the news today that her breast cancer is in an advanced stage. It is in her lymphs, and has already spread up towards her collar bone. Surgery has been scheduled for this coming Friday the 10th. The doctors will take out as much cancer as they can, but already know that not all of it will be able to be removed. Chemo will not start for approx another 6 weeks. Everything seems to be moving so fast, but we are trying to take it one day at a time.

Hij waakt over je gaan en je komen, van nu tot in eeuwigheid.
Nogmaals: beiden (ook de rest van de familie) veel sterkte!

ReplyDeleteGek genoeg had ik al eerder gereageerd maar nu zie ik het niet meer staan. We zijn enorm geschrokken van het bericht! Lieve Helen(en ook Herman!), ik kan wel huilen als ik eraan denk wat je door moet maken, er zijn geen woorden voor!Wat zou ik je graag even zien en spreken.
Gisterenavond heb ik mamma gebeld en haar de blog voorgelezen(vertaald) en ook zij was natuurlijk erg aangedaan. Ze heeft daarna tante Aaf gebeld en ze vroegen of ik jullie de hartelijke groeten wilde doen en wilde zeggen dat ze meeleven en vooral bidden voor jullie!
En dat doen wij(Alje en ik) ook. Wat moet dit een moeilijke tijd voor jullie en de kinderen zijn!
We wensen jullie heel veel sterkte en vooral dat jullie zullen ervaren hoe de Heer jullie draagt.
Hij is De Enige die echt weet wat jullie doormaken en jullie kan troosten en helpen.
