Mom had her third chemo treatment today. We are very thankful it could take place today, because her blood counts were once again too low yesterday. When her blood was checked today, it was just okay...so the chemo went ahead. If that had not been the case, she would have had to wait a week for her treatment, which would have pushed back all her other treatment dates.

Mom's not feeling great right now, but is doing well otherwise. She still manages to look healthy (bald is beautiful!!) despite her treatments. Meghan and Maddie's hair donation now graces Mom's head - she had a hairband made from their hair, and Mom is very happy with it.

Thanks again to everyone for all your help with phone calls, emails, flowers, cards, meals, and above all, your prayers!! Dad and Mom are so well taken care of by friends and family. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Three down, five to go!

  4. Cynthia, Micah and I are reading your blog updates each time they are posted and are excited to see how you are doing each time. We can't imagine how it can be but each day we think of you and give our love to you and the family across the ocean. You are almost half way and from there it will be less and less but challenging I am sure. With such a strong heart and will and such a great family and friends to support you it will make things that much easier.
We love you and wish you the best Aunt Helen and hope that our little videos chear you up from time to time.

  5. We are so glad to hear the treatments are on track. It brings me back to watching Dad go through it when I read Caroline's updates. We call the hand sanitizer 'lotion' for Ally's benefit and she likes getting a squirt from Opa. We continue to think of all of you and keep you in our prayers. May our Lord give you what you need; big hugs to all of you. Ian & Ang & girls
